During each session, you’ll be guided through carefully designed projects using simple, structured methods that make quilting feel achievable and enjoyable. You’ll learn essential patchwork techniques, how to follow quilt patterns, and how to improve accuracy in your sewing — all within a relaxed and welcoming studio setting.

🌸 FRIDAY QUILTING CLASSES
🕑9.00 - 11.00 (2 HOURS)
These relaxed and productive sessions run each week.
Suitable for all levels, including beginners, these small-group sessions focus on your own project, or one of my patterns.
You can book a single session or save money and pre-book 4 or 6 sessions in advance.
🧵 SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
🕑9.30 - 3.00 (5 1/2 hours)
Spend a full day working on a specific quilting project, with plenty of individual tuition.
Each month's workshop will have its own project, skill level and requirements.

1-to-1 or small groups
This is ideal if you want to get started with patchwork and quilting, and need to learn "Beginner Quilter" core skills.
This is also useful if you need help with something specific?
Perhaps you've been struggling with a skill or technique, or you'd like some individual tuition before joining one of the small- group workshops.
We will discuss your needs and arrange a session to suit you.
PLEASE NOTE:
A "Beginner Quilter" refers to someone who knows how to use a sewing machine and cut fabric with a rotary cutter. If you need help getting started, then please contact me to arrange a 1-to-1 personal tuition class.

🌸Friday Quilting Classes
If you know you want to attend several Friday classes, then you can pre-book a series of sessions at a reduced hourly rate.
- 1 x Friday session - £30
- 4 x Friday sessions - £96 (saving of £24)
- 6 x Friday sessions - £120 (saving of £60)

- Pre-booked sessions are subject to availability and must be useful within 3 months.
- If you need to cancel your booking, we require a minimum of 5 days notice for a full refund. Other refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on current workshop bookings.

- Full written instructions on the steps to make the quilted item.
- Demonstrations of all the steps.
- Full support and guidance from Jayne throughout the day.
- A quilted item to take home (if not finished you will know the skills and techniques to finish it in your own time)
🪡Upcoming Workshops
Bargello Wall Hanging
📅Saturday 10th October 🕒 10.00 - 3.30 🪙£55
In this workshop, you will learn the bargello technique to create a quilt top that you can make into a wall hanging.
You will learn the intricate art of cutting, pressing, and sewing fabrics together to create a beautiful Bargello quilt top. Don't worry if you're new to quilting - this class is designed for the beginner or advanced quilter, and step-by-step guidance will be provided throughout the session.
During the workshop, you will work with your own fabrics, and some equipment will be available to use if needed.
Christmas Table Runner

In this workshop, you will learn the skills to make your own heirloom Christmas Table runner.
You can choose from 3 design options, each with different levels of complexity, depending on your confidence and quilting experience.
Ideal for your own Christmas table, or as a special gift for family and friends.
Christmas Applique Wall Hanging

In this festive workshop, you will enjoy making this fun Christmas Tree block and embellishing your wall hanging with fused applique, buttons, and even add a flange border effect.
Applique Cushion
📅Saturday 16th January 🕒 10.00 - 3.30 🪙£55
This workshop is suitable for beginners to patchwork or more advanced quilters. You will learn how to cut and sew your fabric to make a cushion top, and your will then learn how to add applique shapes to make your cushion even more special.
Log Cabin - Traditional or Curved!
📅Saturday 20th February 🕒 10.00 - 3.30 🪙£55
This workshop is suitable for Beginners quilters who already know how to cut and sew fabric together in simple patchwork, or for someone who wants to learn how to make curves in their log cabins designs.
You will learn the log cabin techniques for the traditional or curved method, and will make some log cabin blocks that you can take home to use in your own project.

Workshops are led by Jayne, founder of Poppy Patchwork, who has a passion for helping quilters learn in a calm, clear, and confidence-building way. With many years of quilting experience, Jayne has created a wide range of quilt patterns, step-by-step tutorials, and quilting resources designed especially for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. Her teaching style focuses on breaking techniques down into simple, manageable steps so that every quilter feels supported and capable.
Before launching Poppy Patchwork online, Jayne ran a fabric shop in Bristol where she taught quilting classes in person; something she thoroughly enjoyed. She is now delighted to return to face-to-face teaching, offering small, friendly workshops where each participant receives individual guidance and encouragement.
Whether you are picking up a rotary cutter for the first time or looking to refine your accuracy, Jayne’s workshops are designed to help you learn at your own pace and leave feeling confident in your quilting.
